In‑Meeting Tools for Participant Engagement (HeyPeers Meetings)
Participants in HeyPeers Meetings have several simple tools they can use to engage during the session. These include raising their hand, sending reaction emojis, and using the in‑meeting chat to communicate with the Group Leader and other attendees. These tools help participants share feedback, ask questions, and stay connected throughout the meeting.
Reaction Emojis
Reaction emojis give participants and host a quick, non‑verbal way to express emotions or encouragement during your meeting. They help keep the group engaged without interrupting the speaker.
To display an emoji, select React in the bottom toolbar.

When someone chooses an emoji:
- The emoji floats upward on their video tile
- It also appears next to their name in the Participants list.
This makes it easy for you to see who reacted and how. - The emoji stays visible for 10 seconds, then disappears automatically

Raise Hand
Participants can use the Raise Hand feature to let you know they would like to speak without interrupting the conversation. This tool helps you manage turn‑taking smoothly, especially in larger groups.
Participants select Raise in the bottom toolbar of the meeting window.

When they do, a hand icon appears on their video tile. The same icon appears next to their name in the Participants list.

If multiple people raise their hands, numbers show the order in which hands were raised.

Participants can lower their own hand at any time by selecting Lower in the bottom toolbar

How you (the host) can lower a participant’s hand

To lower a participant’s hand, open the Participants panel or hover over the participant's video tile. Select the 3‑dot menu next to their name. Choose Lower Hand.

In‑Meeting Chat
The in‑meeting chat allows participants to send text messages during the session. It’s a simple way to ask questions, share thoughts, or respond to the Group Leader without interrupting the conversation.
