A Tour of the HeyPeers Platform

Welcome to HeyPeers!  We’re glad you’re here.

Whether you're exploring HeyPeers for the first time or preparing to set up your organization, this tour will help you get oriented to the logged‑in experience on HeyPeers. You'll see where key features live, what your members will see, and where your team will access the tools they need to manage your programs. It’s the perfect starting point before diving into the Organization Management Module.

What HeyPeers Is

HeyPeers is both a platform and a supportive community. Members use it to find peer‑support meetings, join chat rooms, connect with certified peer supporters, and subscribe to organizations so they can easily find their meetings and resources.

Organizations use HeyPeers to host and manage their programs, manage their teams and subscribers, and offer safe, structured support to their communities. They can also manage meeting registrations, track attendance, and oversee the full lifecycle of their meetings.

Public Site vs. Logged‑In Experience

HeyPeers has two layers:
  • Public site - informational only. Anyone can browse meetings and organizations here but cannot participate.

  • Logged‑in experience ("Member Module") - where all activity happens. Members register for and attend meetings, join chat rooms, and interact with your organization’s programs. Your group leaders and peer supporters manage and facilitate their meetings and chatrooms. Your administrators manage your organizational account, your settings and functionality, and your programs and teams.
🔴 To access the logged‑in experience, every user, including administrators, group leaders, and peer supporters, must create a free HeyPeers member account.

This tour focuses on the logged‑in experience so you can understand where key features live and how members and team members navigate the platform.

The Member Module

Once you’ve logged, you’re inside the Member Module, the operational side of HeyPeers.
Below is a quick overview of the key sections you’ll use in the Member Module.

Organization Management Module

This is where your administrators manage your organization’s account, settings, programs, and team. It includes tools for configuring your landing page, managing roles, updating organization‑level preferences, and overseeing your programs.

Every team member in your organization (Admins, Coordinators, and Peer Supporters) can access the Organization Management Module, but each role has different permissions that determine what they can see and do within it.

Organization Landing Page

Your organization's profile page on HeyPeers. Members can learn about your organization and group leaders, view and register for your meetings, and explore your resources. Admins can use it to engage with members.

Meetings Page

A full listing of all public meetings on HeyPeers. Members browse and register for meetings here. Your organization’s meetings will appear here as well, unless you choose to hide them.

My Chat

The My Chat page includes public, private, and organization‑specific chat rooms where members can join ongoing discussions. Facilitators moderate the rooms they’re assigned to, and admins can view how their organization’s chat rooms appear to members. Group leaders and peer supporters can also communicate directly with members through private chat rooms, giving them a simple way to stay connected outside of meetings.
